May Students of the Month 2008

OWATONNA—Matt Jensen, son of Bruce and Patti Jensen, and Alex Marshall, son of Andy and Nancy Marshall, are the Owatonna Rotary Club’s Students of the Month for May.

Kelsey Wahl, daughter of Craig and Brenda Wahl, is the Rotary Club’s Top Team Student for May.

All three students are seniors at Owatonna High School.

Jensen is a member of the OHS chapter of the National Honor Society.  At OHS, he has participated in Band, Marching Band, and Orchestra, playing the tuba.  He is on the soccer and track teams, has served on the Prom Committee, and has been a Peer Helper.  He takes part in club soccer through the Owatonna Soccer Association.  He has been employed at Kohl’s.

For college, Jensen will attend Notre Dame as a Notre Dame Scholar, majoring in chemical engineering.

Marshall is a National Honor Society member.  He has participated in Band, Pep Band, lacrosse, and ultimate frisbee.  At Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, he is a multi-year participant in the Youth Group, Supernight, and Ignition.  He is currently employed at Napa Auto Parts.

Marshall will attend the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology, majoring in engineering.

Wahl is a clarinetist with the OHS Concert Band.  She has taken part in SHOC and Link Crew.  She is or has been a member of the Yearbook Committee, the PROM Committee, the parade crew for Homecoming, and Key Club.  She is a Wyldlife Leader and a Young Life member.  She is with the Mentor Group at Good Shephard Lutheran Church and  participates in Teens Encounter Christ.  She is employed at Old Town Bagels.

Wahl will attend the University of Minnesota Mankato, majoring in social work.

All three students attend Rotary Club luncheons at the Owatonna Country Club and will receive special recognition at the May 19 luncheon.
