March Students of the Month 2008

OWATONNA—Trevor Vannatta, son of Stephen and Vickie Vannatta, and Sean Van Osdale, son of Mark and Sue Van Osdale, are the Owatonna Rotary Club’s Students of the Month for March.
Amber Bendorf, daughter of Doug and Rochelle Bendorf, is the Rotary Club’s Top Team Student for March.
All three students are seniors at Owatonna High School.
Vannatta is a member of the OHS chapter of the National Honor Society. He is a three-year theatre participant. He has played varsity tennis for four years. He has also been a Speech Team member for two years and has participated in Link Crew, with Peer Helpers, with Big Brothers, and on the Homecoming Crew. At Redeemer Lutheran Church, he is a four-year Youth Group member and has taken part in Vacation Bible School and in several church skits. In 2006, he was part of a student exchange group to Goeppingen, Germany. He is currently employed at the West Hills Tennis and Fitness Center.
For college, Vannatta intends to attend the University of Wisconsin--La Crosse, majoring in biology.
Van Osdale is also a National Honor Society member. He has taken part in boys swimming for six years and in theatre for four. He was a foreign exchange student for one semester in Goeppingen, Germany. He is employed as a lifeguard by Owatonna Park and Recreation, serving at West Hills, Lake Kohlmier, Beaver Lake, and Owatonna Junior High School.
For higher education, Van Osdale is considering the United States Naval Academy, Iowa State University, and St. Norbert’s (WI), intending to major in nuclear engineering.
Bendorf has played both volleyball and softball at OHS for three years. She has worked at both Modern Metal Products and Owatonna Veterinary Services. She plans to attend Ridgewater College in Willmar, majoring in veterinary technology.
All three students attend Rotary Club luncheons at the Owatonna Country Club and will receive special recognition at the March 31 meeting.
