January Students of the Month 2007

OWATONNA—Naomi Elmhorst, daughter of Brady and Patti Elmhorst, and Brett Bjorkquist, son of Steve Bkjorkquist and Sue Bergsieker, are the Owatonna Rotary Club’s Students of the Month for January. Both are seniors at Owatonna Christian School.
Ryan Sanford, son of Gary and Deb Stanford, is the Rotary Club’s Top Team Student for January. He is a senior at Owatonna High School.
Elmhorst has played on the OCS volleyball team for four years and has played softball for two. She has participated in Bible Quiz for three years and has engaged in Macs Competition. In the community, she has assisted with special needs Christmas events. In her church, Grace Baptist, she works with the church nursery and took part on a mission trip to Argentine. She is currently employed at Cash Wise Grocery.
For college, Elmhorst plans to attend Faith Baptist College in Ankeny, Iowa, majoring in elementary education.
Bjorkquist has played four years of basketball, four years of soccer, and three years of baseball at OCS. He is also a member of the National Honor Society. At Grace Baptist, he is a youth group member. He plans to attend Riverland College, looking toward a major in business.
Sanford has participated in three years of wrestling at OHS. He is a two-year member of DECA and currently serves as treasurer of the group. He is employed at Jerry’s Supper Club. For college, he will attend Riverland, with a likely major in business.
All three students attend weekly Rotary Club luncheons at the Holiday Inn and will receive special recognition at the January 29 luncheon.
